On December 7, 2015, VH1 announced its decision to end “Mob Wives” at the conclusion of its sixth season. Season 6 will be officially titled “Mob Wives: The Last Stand” and will introduce two cast members in Brittany Fogarty, daughter of known gangster John Fogarty, and Marissa Jade Fiore.
It was also announced that Majewski would be returning in a guest appearance in the final season of “Mob Wives.”
The Mafia-theme of the show was a concern for many in the media as well as the non-journalists. Staten Island Borough President James Molinaro said that he has seen the TV series and he thinks it’s disgraceful because it paints Staten Island and Italian-Americans in a bad light.
Molinaro believes that the show is detrimental because people will think that Staten Island is similar to what the TV series projects and it is just bad for the locale’s doctors, lawyers, and other people who came from Italy to build their lives.
UNICO National, an Italian advocacy group, said that the show is tantamount to trash TV like “Jersey Shore.” The group also hopes that the TV show dies because no one watches it. It also seconded Molinaro’s opinion that the show is a disgrace because the real title of the series should be ‘Mass Murderers’ Wives.’
