Mission: Impossible 5 to Come Out Sooner Than Planned, Now Targeted for July, And More News

It’s rare, but occasionally it does happen – production schedules can swing both ways in the film industry, and sometimes work on a film is going so smooth that its release date can be pushed forward a few months. In the case of “Mission: Impossible 5”, Paramount pictures have decided to shift the film’s planned release date by a whole five-month period, as the film is now scheduled for July 31, 2015.

It’s not known exactly what lead to the decision, but reports allegedly coming from the film’s set are claiming that production has been going exceptionally well, with few next to no setbacks for the crew, and they have been managing to shoot all their required scenes in a timely manner. Shooting has been going for a few months now, after it started in August in Vienna, and the film’s crew have been spotted all over the world over the course of their shooting, as the new film will feature scenes from various popular locations.

Now, the new “Mission: Impossible” is set to come out in the same timeframe as “Guardians of the Galaxy” which came out last year, and perhaps more interestingly, it will now come out ahead of the new James Bond film, titled “Spectre”. Some have been speculating that this precisely was the main motivation behind the decision, as Paramount apparently want to offer some strong competition to James Bond and want to get the best exposure possible. While Christmas is a great period for releasing a new film, if they had released it just one month after “Spectre” came out, this could have caused some issues with the popularity of “Mission: Impossible”.

Paramount have been rearranging their schedule in other areas recently as well, after they moved “Monster Trucks” from May 29 to Christmas. It’s not clear if the two moves were related, although “Monster Trucks” is expected to see a popular launch and it’s not very likely that Paramount wanted to put more focus on “Mission: Impossible” than the animated film, but anything is possible in the world of cinema, especially when such big sums of money are involved. In the end, Paramount know their own market well enough, and they have probably calculated both releases to earn as much as possible from them, while also giving the films sufficient exposure.

Now, all that’s left is for Tom Cruise and his crew to wrap up the production and post-production of the new film, and for fans to enjoy yet another action-packed production with original stunt scenes recorded by Cruise himself, as well as the thrilling plot twists that the franchise became known for originally.
