Mission Impossible 5 Signature Masks Return, Renner Gets Saved From the Rain in London!

Director Christopher McQuarrie is currently in the process for the making of Mission Impossible 5. Recently, he shared an interesting quiz with an image in Twitter, where he asks if you can name the actor sporting the bizarrely realistic mask. You can be sure that it’s not Tom Cruise, the guy who usually ends up wearing one in this movie franchise. Speculations are on the rise regarding who this mysterious actor’s true identity.

McQuarrie hasn’t shared any news regarding who the actor is. However, speculations suggest that instead of Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt, it is Simon Pegg’s Benji Dunn. Evidently, it seems as if he will get his first chance of wearing a mask in the Mission Impossible 5. You can check up on a close of Pegg’s eyes and see if you can match with the ones on the image.

If this ends up being true, it will certainly be a delight for fans who adore Benji’s character. He is the one who prefers the high-tech masks which Impossible Missions Force employees get to use. Regrettably in Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol, he could not use one of these masks himself as the machine ends up breaking down on the job. It surely paves the way for some classic redemption in the upcoming Mission Impossible 5.

Besides all of this, the more exciting aspect is that masks are making a comeback in Mission Impossible 5. Although Brad Bird’s Ghost Protocol was quite impressive, it was a slight let down that none of the characters ever used one of the signature devices of this series. With McQuarrie releasing the image in Twitter, people are wondering who the mask is modeled after. Call me crazy but it looks a lot like John Malkovich.

Currently, Mission Impossible 5 is in the production stage and will be spending a major amount of 2015 in the editing room. It is set to have a Christmas Day 2015 release. Besides the return of Ethan Hunt and Benji Dunn, we will also get to witness Jeremy Renner as William Brandt and Ving Rhames as Luther Stickell. The script is written by Drew Pearce, best known for being the co-writer for Iron-Man 3. We know nothing of the movie plot yet.

However, we do know that the fifth installment in this series will top its predecessor with some massively unbelievable stunts. For example, imagine Tom Cruise crawling along the exterior body of an airplane while it’s flying!

The extensive shoot for this film covered various different locations like London, Austria, and Morocco. Recently Jeremy Renner found himself being saved from the rain in London. A trusty female assistant shielded his head with a large red umbrella on the sets of Mission Impossible 5.
