Mission Impossible 5 Release Date Will Make It Summer Blockbuster!

Mission Impossible has become one of the most action packed movie series of all time and with the fourth installment getting much praise from critics and a lot of money at the box office, there was no reason not to make the fifth one. Rumors about the fifth installment of the Mission Impossible series started about 6 months ago and started when Tom Cruise and other cast members were noticed in Italy on set. That led to plenty of speculation for the new movie.

Initially, the release date was set for Christmas day of this year and that is usually a good day for blockbuster movies to be released nationwide. With that being said, fans of the movie series were planning on skipping the late night family time and getting ready to head to the theater to see the next installment to the Tom Cruise action films. The studio might have noticed that the brand new Star Wars movie is getting released the week before and that would not be good for box office earnings, since that movie is expected to rack in hundreds of millions.

Paramount instead has decided to move the release date for Mission Impossible 5 to the summer and put the new live-action film called “Monster Trucks” to the Christmas release day. The Monster Trucks movie will be up against “The Revenant” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks 4”. The initial release date for the Monster Trucks movie was May 29th, which is during another huge movie weekend.

Another reason for the move is that cast and crew for Mission Impossible 5 are finishing up filming a little sooner than scheduled. The cast and crew is being directed by Christopher McQuarrie and that includes cast members from the last movie. Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg and Jeremy Renner are all expected to be in the fifth movie when it arrives at theaters. Other cast members that have been confirmed includes Alec Baldwin and Zhang Jingchu. The main villain will be played by Sean Harris.

Mission Impossible 5

Now that Mission Impossible 5 is expected to arrive earlier, it will not be put up against such blockbusters as Star Wars 7, or Spectre, which is the new James Bond film. Both of those movies are expected around the beginning of November. With a summer release, Mission Impossible 5 will be up against movies like “Southpaw” and “Point Break”, making it a little easier to blow the box office away than compared to the competition at the end of the year.
