In other words, according to some critics, one could take the separate scenes of the film, put them together in any order, and still come up with a film that makes sense when it’s watched in this arrangement.
Whether that was intentional or not, it’s hard to tell – maybe Tom Cruise just wanted to keep his doors open for exploring different possible plot developments. But it did strike some critics in an odd way, and some fans have apparently noticed it too.
But all in all, the film just works well and everything clicks together in the final presentation. A lot of work has obviously gone into “Mission: Impossible 5” and Tom Cruise is still determined to give his fans exactly what they want, which is why people have so much trust in him and enjoy hearing that he’s working on something new yet again. With this kind of attitude, we would expect him to remain relevant for quite a long time in the future as well, and he will probably be on the screen for a while.
