Miley Cyrus Slams Nicki Minaj for Failing to Move On from their Video Music Awards Feud, And More!

It’s been two months since the Video Music Awards feud erupted between pop singer Miley Cyrus and rapper Nicki Minaj but it seems that the latter is still ranting about it at every chance she can get with the press.

For Miley, it is no longer about the feud or the issue that brought about the feud but over the fact that she feels that Nicki is looking pathetic because she does not seem to want to let go about the whole thing, reports Hollywood Life.

The 22-year-old “Wrecking Ball” singer has not been responding to the dishes of Nicki Minaj in the press because doing so would only give the rapper more press so she decided not to dignify Nicki’s ranting.

But in a recent interview, Miley said that Nicki keeps bringing things up because that’s all she has. She said that Nicki simply cannot let the issue go and she finds it a bit pathetic.

She also said that she will not respond to Nicki’s tirade via a song or anything like that and the most she can do is drop an Instagram joke or something to that effect.

The start of the feud

The feud between Miley and Nicki began during the VMA when the rapper called the pop singer out for talking about her in an earlier interview days earlier.

Nicki even called Miley as a bitch during the show. Miley never bothered responding to Nicki’s swipe so the issue eventually died down.

But on October 7, the New York Times run an interview on Nicki Minaj and their feud was again highlighted.

In the interview, Nicki said that the fact that Miley got upset when she started speaking on something that affects black women makes her feel that “The Climb” singer has some big balls. Miley took a potshot on Nicki for complaining about not getting a VMA nomination and for putting the issue of racial discrimination on the line.

Nicki went on to say that Miley’s videos show her with black men and she also brings black women on her stage performances, but she does not know how black women feel about something so important. She added that Miley cannot just want the good without the bad.

Sources close to Miley say that the pop singer is not the kind to back down on such issue, but she is determined to just let it pass because she is already apparently over the drama.

The issue about white privilege

The Daily Beast opines that the recent interview of Nicki Minaj with the New York Times was a way for the rapper to teach Miley Cyrus about white privilege.

It reported that it was clear with the statement of Nicki when she said that if Miley wants to enjoy the culture and lifestyle of the black people, she should also want to know what affects them, what is bothering them, and what black people feel is unfair to them.

While the life philosophies of Nicki Minaj are a little more than a direct response to a shifting market, her very existence as a successful black woman in hip-hop is more empowering than any pseudo-feminist maxim could ever be. And she does not back down from the responsibilities that come with her powerful identity, which she showed during her feud with Miley Cyrus.

The good news about the feud between Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus is the fact that it is centered on an issue and not on personalities or personal lives which make them look good professionals.

As for Miley, she’d rather focus on her raunchy posts on Instagram than deal with the rantings of Nicki, believing that the issue would eventually come to pass.
