Miley Cyrus Flubs a Lyric of ‘My Way’ in the Night Honoring Comedy Legend Bill Murray

Miley Cyrus is a good singer but during her rendition of the classic “My Way” for a tribute to comedy legend Bill Murray, she surprisingly flubbed a lyric in the middle of her performance, which had some fans in quandary.

The “Wrecking Ball” singer admitted her mistake and explained that she was too stoned while singing the classic.

For a while, some critics thought that she was referring to being awed by having to do the performance before a comedy legend, the 66-year-old Bill Murray, whom she also had the opportunity to work with in “A Very Murray Christmas” shown in Netflix not too long ago.

But apparently, Miley meant it for what it was. She was into weed when she said that she smoked too much that she forgot a lyric of “My Way,” details the Huffington Post.

Murray was quick to comfort Miley with an impromptu joke as he yelled from the audience by saying that this is happening right now in Washington, D.C., the 51st state in the union.

But Bill wasn’t fussed and reportedly cheered on as he jumped out of his seat. Apparently, he even had the band prepare for round two later in the night and Miley performed the tune again without a hitch, reports News.com.au.

Bill Murray was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the celebrity-filled event at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. on October 24.

The show also featured many of Bill Murray’s former co-stars sang his praises including veteran actors Sigourney Weaver and Steve Martin.

Changed her style anew

Miley Cyrus has significantly changed her style and aura when she and Liam Hemsworth rekindled their relationship late last year.

It is obvious with the way she looks at the singing competition reality show “The Voice” where is currently one of the two new coaches who joined Adam Levine and Blake Lively, the other one being Alicia Keys.

She seemed to have thrown out the window her rock look for the most part until the iHeartRadio Music Festival held on September 23.

Miley Cyrus pulled off a surprise as well as a crowd-chanting stint when she performed alongside rock icon Billy Idol at the iHeartRadio Music Festival as they sang Idol’s “Rebel Yell” hit song of the 80s.

It was the 60-year-old English rocker who announced during his four-song set, which also included fan favorites “Dancing With Myself” and “White Wedding,” the entry of Miley Cyrus, much to the delight of the already ecstatic crowd.

A superfan with her idol

The “We Can’t Stop” singer, donning her best Billy Idol-inspired get-up, joined the iconic rocker on stage to sing his 1983 hit “Rebel Yell.”

As she walked onto the stage, she said to the crowd that she was singing with Billy Idol, inserting an expletive word in between to highlight her excitement and then told the crowd to sing with them. The duo went into the performance and had the crowd asking for more and more.

During the high-energy performance, Cyrus wowed the crowd at T-Mobile Arena with her superfan outfit, which included an epic leather jacket with Idol’s face painted on the back, a vintage Idol T-shirt, leather pants with the ’80s icon’s name down the left leg and Idol sunglasses.

It was not the first time that Miley Cyrus sang a Billy Idol song. The first time the eccentric entertainer covered “Rebel Yell” was during her performance at the VH1 Divas concert in December 2012.

The excitement of Miley Cyrus in performing with Billy Idol live did not end on the stage as it was all over her Instagram soon after.

Billy Idol also appreciated the performance with the “Party in the USA” singer and reposted one of Miley Cyrus photos on Instagram and saying that he had a great time on stage with Miley that night.
