Microsoft Xbox Scorpio Will Be More Powerful Than PS4 Pro, the Latter Will Not Support Native 4K Rendering!

The PS Pro was expected to support 4K as well, but Sony confirmed that the console would just upscale games to 4K resolution instead of rendering them natively. To achieve this, Sony will make use of complex algorithms.

The Scorpio is expected to be launched in Holiday 2017, and this gives Sony a major lead in the market with the PlayStation Pro.

The console will be available for purchase, starting from 10th November 2016, with a price tag of 400 dollars. However, according to Microsoft, the Xbox Scorpio will be approximately 50 percent more powerful (6 teraflops compared to 4.14 flops.

In conclusion, the PS4 Pro will support 4K and HDR output for various titles, but it won’t be as native as you hoped.  Andrew House from Sony mentioned that the bulk of PS4 titles would be upscaled instead of being in native 4K.

House said that majority of the games would be upscaled, according to the game portfolio, they have at present. When further asked whether it is misleading to think that PS4 Pro games would run in 4K, House stated that he doesn’t think so.
