There were previous rumors saying that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, the Redmondian company’s latest iteration of its high-end laptop-tablet line, will come out on October 26. But as it turned out, what came out from the Microsoft event that day was an update to the Windows 10 and a hybrid Surface Book officially called as Surface Book i7.
Subsequently, reports started coming out that Microsoft will be unveiling the Surface Pro 5 next year instead, possibly along with the Surface Book 2.
Of late, however, new rumors started coming out saying that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could come out next year with two main variants.
Techno-geeks assumed that the two variants of the combination laptop-tablet line could differ in terms of what’s under the hood but it turns out, it would be different in terms of what would be its operating system, based on rumors.
Accordingly, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 would come out with one version that is Windows-based, the way its predecessors came out, and the other one would run on Android OS, reports the University Herald.
But many critics believe that the Android OS possible running on Surface Pro 5 is a misdirect or an inaccurate rumor because Microsoft would not be using a product of Google for its device in much the same way as Apple is very protective of its iOS software’s exclusivity to iOS devices.
Microsoft has yet to issue a formal confirmation or denial regarding the so-called Android OS variant of the Surface Pro 5 so it should really be seriously taken with a fine grain of salt.
Set to debut early next year
While the Redmondian company has yet to confirm the release date for the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, there is current buzz saying that the device could have an early next year debut in the retail markets, details Game & Guide.
The rest of the rumors, particularly on the specifications and features of the high-end combination laptop-tablet device, are pretty consistent.
Microsoft Surface Pro 5 shall reportedly come out with the high-end chipset in Intel Kaby Lake and possibly running on the new Windows 10 Redstone 2 operating system that Microsoft just launched last month. Of course, there is also the rather absurd rumor of having a variant of the device coming out with an Android OS.
The device shall also come out with an upgraded Surface Pen that can run on rechargeable batteries, which can be charged in a wireless mode since it is magnetically linked to the Microsoft Surface Pro 5.
Redstone 2 has been referred to as the Creator’s gadget, a software with a potential capability and much improved to Microsoft’s Edge, personalization capabilities, and adjustments to built-in apps.
A spectacular piece of device
The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also expected to come out with the latest Intel processor built using the latest processing technology, which assures the device of faster and more optimal performance.
It shall also feature a USB Type-C charging port, which has become the new paradigm in modern-day devices for faster data transfers.
Based on its rumored specifications and features, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is going to be a spectacular piece of device when it finally arrives on the market next year.
It shall reportedly come out with an improved Surface Pen, which will be an integral component of Microsoft Surface devices from thereon.
According to analysts, the only reason why the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 was rumored to come out last month is because its predecessor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, completed its one-year market cycle last month too.
But the same rumors are also consistent in saying that Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be a lot better than the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 although based on the supposed leaked design of the upcoming device, the changes do not appear to be that much.
