Microsoft Surface Pro 5 Rumored to be a Spectacular Piece of Device, Release Date Pushed Back to Next Year!

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is marking its first year in the market this month so some critics were expecting that its successor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5, would be launched around this time.

It has been also noted that over the last couple of weeks, the price of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 in the retail market has been slashed so fans are assuming that it is a clear indication that the current device is paving the way for the entry of the Microsoft Surface Pro 5.

Microsoft has a scheduled event in New York on October 26 and fans and critics previously thought that the American tech company would use the occasion to launch the Surface Pro 5, the Surface Book 2, among other devices.

Unfortunately for them, that is not to be the case as latest reports have it that Microsoft will be focusing on the Windows 10 and the different hardware devices that best exemplify the number of features that come with the updated operating system, reports iTech Post.

The Redmondian company shall reportedly shed light on the cloud-based solutions that the Windows 10 also offers. In a nutshell, the solution shall allow users to access their Microsoft accounts on desktops, smartphones, and notebooks for as long as they run on Windows 10.

A strategy to avoid overshadowing

Accordingly, the main device that would be featured on the October 26 event is the Microsoft All-In-One Desktop or the Surface PC.

Some critics are saying that it is likely the reason why Microsoft pushed the release of the Surface Pro 5 to next year so that the device would not steal the thunder from the Surface PC that the company would be launching next week.

Accordingly, Microsoft wants consumers to consider the All-In-One Desktop without being overshadowed by the Surface Pro 5 which is why it decided to push back the release date of its latest tablet-laptop combo.

Based on its rumored specifications and features, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is going to be a spectacular piece of a device when it finally arrives on the market next year. It shall reportedly come out with an improved Surface Pen, which will be an integral component of its Surface devices from thereon.

Sporting a power-efficient and powerful processor

More than the strategy to avoid the Surface PC being overshadowed by the Surface Pro 5, the release date of the latter is also affected by supply issues.

While the Redmondian company would like nothing but to launch the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 this month, reports have it that Intel’s Kaby Lake processor, which Microsoft intends to use for its hybrid laptop-tablet line, is due for mass production before the end of the year yet.

Thus, it seems logical to assume that the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will come out to the market sometime next year although no exact date has been given thus far.

The Intel Kaby Lake processor is reported to be a power-efficient and very powerful processor that could double the performance of the hybrid laptop-tablet.

One of the major problems of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, when it was launched last year, was its poor battery. The Intel Kaby Lake processor, in effect, fixes the battery issue on the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 right off the bat, notes the University Herald.

The latest iteration of Microsoft’s hybrid laptop-tablet line shall also be sporting a USB Type-C port, which has become the standard in modern day devices to allow for speedy data transfer.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 shall also be sporting a 4K Ultra HD display with an option for a lower-end variant with a 2K display.

The device shall feature 16GB of RAM, a rear-facing 16-megapixel camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing snapper.

Microsoft would be holding an event in the latter part of this month but it will not be launching any of the next generation laptop or notebook devices nor the much-rumored Surface Phone. Instead, the Redmondian company will be launching an all-in-one PC together, which is to be called as the Surface PC.
