The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has been around the market by over a month now and so far the reviews on the combination laptop and tablet are pretty excellent.
According to some critics, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is now proving to be a capable computing device that offers a pleasant experience to its users and also exudes that more than pleasurable look, details Tab Times.
If ever there is a complaint regarding the device, it is basically its rather prohibitive price point, although its base model appears to be competitively priced.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with the Core M3 processor model with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage retails for $899. However, its high-end variant featuring a Core i7 processor that comes with a 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage is priced, rather heftily, at $3,000.
The biggest in the lot
Compared to other tablets such as the Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet, the Apple iPad Air 2, the Huawei MediaPad X2, and the Apple iPad mini 4, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is fairly large.
It features a 12.3-inch display which is 2.5 inches larger than the Sony tablet and Apple’s iPad Air 2. Although with the recent release of the Apple iPad Pro, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 now has a match, in terms of the size of the display, that is.
The Surface Pro 4 also delivers in picture and clarity because it has a remarkable pixel density of 267 ppi, which is 3 ppi higher than the attribute of the iPad Pro.
It is also equipped with a standard built-in kickstand, which adds a little extra thickness and weight, as well as unpleasant pressure points when holding the device on hand. However, the overall experience creates a flexibility which is not found on the typical flat slate.
The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 also features a magnetic connectivity of almost everything. The stylus that comes with the device sticks to the side, the detachable keyboard pops on and off, and the reversible power connector finds its way into place by simply getting close and letting magnetism handle the rest.
As close as it can get
Some critics also believe that Microsoft has crafted a tablet that can reasonably replace a laptop. While it’s battery is not that superb, the device is as close as the Redmondian company can get towards finally having a laptop replacement, with a little more convenience and ease, notes Tech Radar.
In addition to the larger and sharper screen within the same dimensions, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 has a vastly improved Type Cover and has an even better Surface Pen.
Some of its minimal downsides include the fact that its Type Cover is still an accessory to the device and is thus being sold separately. It also has a rather antiquated Intel Core m3 for an entry level. Its battery life hardly made any improvement from its predecessor, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3.
Meanwhile, one critic recently made a review of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and he said that his experience with the device has been good. However, he also noted some oddities with it, making him feel uneasy, notwithstanding the hefty price of the device.
The reviewer said that there seems to be an audible popping noise that occurs intermittently during the use of the Surface Pro 4. The noise accordingly occurs at random intervals but is distinct and can occur when the audio is not being played.
The other thing that the critic noted is the issue on the keyboard or trackpad which stops functioning at times, leaving the user to either restart the device or push along using the touch screen. While it has been an issue before with the Surface Pro 3, he believes that Microsoft should have attended to it during the development of the Surface Pro 4.
