Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Could Be Launched in July or Earlier

Microsoft’s vaunted tablet/laptop device, the Surface Pro 4, is expected to be launched in July this year or even earlier.

The July launching date means that Microsoft will be unveiling its latest tablet ahead of the rumored new tablet from Apple known as the iPad Pro, reports BGR.

Over the past few days, reports have it that Apple has delayed the launching of its iPad Pro because of supply issues particularly with its larger 12-inch display screen. But the American tech giant has yet to confirm the supposed delayed release date as well as whether it is really working on the development of the rumored iPad Pro.

While the iPad Pro is technically hypothetical at this point, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is almost good to go and the Redmondian company is just waiting for the perfect opportunity to roll out its highly-touted and very much anticipated tablet/laptop combo device to the market.

In fact, because of previous reports of the groundbreaking features of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, it can actually become the most interesting tablet launch this year, unless the Apple iPad Pro proves otherwise.

Will come in two variants

Previous reports indicated that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 could actually come in two size variants – the 12-inch version and the 14-inch model. Its display screen would have a very remarkable 2160 x 1440-pixel resolution.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 shall also be powered by the Intel Core M Broadwell chip, which is the same processor being used in today’s ultra-slim and fan-less laptops including the up and coming 12-inch MacBook Air with Retina display.

Depending on the progress of the launching of the Windows 10, the Microsoft Surface Pro is expected to hit the retail markets in July this year or even earlier.

It is still not clear whether Microsoft intends to officially launch the Windows 10 along with the Surface Pro 4, which would be a good strategy since the company can showcase how the new desktop and mobile operating system can work on a PC and a mobile device at the same time.

LTE capable

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is reportedly an LTE (long-term evolution)-capable device too, which means that it could support cellular data connection. This would be a first for the Redmondian company for its high-end Surface Pro tablet line although it already had an LTE-capable Surface 2 tablet previously.

An LTE-capable Surface Pro 4 would mean a pricier tablet too because new components are necessary to augment the device to have cellular connectivity.

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 vs Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Microsoft has yet to release a statement regarding the official price of the Surface Pro 4. The company also refuses to comment on the rumors that began as early as last year that it is also working on the Surface Pro Mini. Speculations have it that the Surface Pro mini will launch along with the Windows 10 this coming fall. It is not clear if the Surface Pro 4 will be part of that launching too.
