Michael Schumacher Urged to Keep on Fighting Onward to Recovery!

Fellow F1 racers and fans the world over are urging Michael Schumacher to continue fighting to give himself a shot at a possible full recovery.

While there has been no official news about the actual condition of the seven-time F1 world champion, reports have it that Schumacher is going on a very slow pace of recovery after waking up from a six-month coma as a result of the accident.

Schumacher had a horrific ski accident in Meribel in the French Alps on December 29, 2013. The accident happened just off piste, between two ski runs. Although he was wearing a helmet, he had to undergo operation due to brain haemorrhage that left him in a coma for six months.

He has already wakened up from a six-month coma after the accident. Michael has since been transferred from the hospital in September 2014 to their home in Lake Geneva in Switzerland. While he still cannot talk, Michael can already communicate through his eyes according to early reports.

Remains hopeful

His wife, who has been with his side all through his ordeal for the last 13 months admits that Michael’s recovery would take a long time. Despite earlier prognosis that the Formula One champion would not fully recover to his state before the ski accident, his wife continues to remain hopeful.

And so are his fans and fellow F1 racecar drivers.

There was also a prognosis that it would take Michael three years to get back and live a relatively normal life, but most doctors share the opinion that it’s really hard to assure or calculate the progress of a patient who suffered severe head trauma, reports Crossmap.

Despite the prevailing pessimism on Schumi’s condition, fans, like his family remain hopeful that they would finally see the former F1 champion back on his feet again in the near future.

Fellow F1 drivers are also egging Michael to continue fighting the good fight. Romain Grosjean of Lotus and Daniil Kvyat of Red Bull openly expressed their support to Schumi on their social media accounts on Twitter.

Grosjean tweeted that he will always share the thoughts and hopes of Schumacher’s loved ones for his swift recovery. Kvyat, on the other hand, said that he is confident that Michael would be able to recover because of his strong will as a racing legend.

Mercedes, Schumacher’s former home team, also expressed their thoughts for Michael, his family and their friends as they wish for the full recovery of the former F1 champion.

Earlier in the month, there were also reports, supposedly coming from Frenchman racer Philippe Streiff, a friend of Schumacher and his family, that Michael can no longer speak or has not regained the power of speech as he put it.

But Michael’s physician denied any visit by Streiff so it highly likely that Streiff’s source is unreliable. Just the same, the physician did not confirm nor deny the supposed report coming from Streiff.
