Michael Schumacher Showing Small Signs of Recovery, Likely Still Has a Long Way to Go!

Michael Schumacher is still not doing very well after his tragic crash in 2013 that left him severely injured and in a condition where he had to be put in a medically induced coma. And even though he has been showing some small signs of recovery, the process has been very slow and challenging for the racer’s family and those around him. Many of his fans are constantly on the lookout for any news about his current condition, but his situation remains mostly a mystery as reports come out irregularly and somewhat slowly.

The most recent news about Schumacher claim that he’s been able to recognize the voices of his wife and children, and he cried in response to hearing them. And though this sounds like a deeply saddening situation, it also shows a glimmer of hope for Schumacher, as his condition could possibly be improving, even if only slightly.

According to reports, he’s been crying regularly when hearing the voices of people he knows and recognizes, especially those really close to him. Sounds in general seem to be a trigger for Schumacher’s emotions on some level, as he has been showing reactions to certain events around him. Of course, this is just a small development, but it’s better than the completely idle state that Schumacher was in for most of the duration of his coma. This development is no guarantee that the racer will show any further improvements in the coming days though.

So far, it’s not known what the legendary racer’s hopes of ever waking up are. A coma is a serious condition, one that physicians typically consider on an individual basis due to its highly unpredictable nature. And in most cases, if a person does manage to wake up from a coma, this is regarded as a lucky occurrence. It’s not the outcome for every patient that goes into a coma, especially when the person’s condition is as serious as Schumacher’s.

It’s also understandable why reports from Schumacher’s home have been relatively rare, as the family is likely too preoccupied with their situation to consider talking to the public too much at the moment. Situations like this are usually very hard on the people involved, and making an appearance in front of people in order to talk about an event like that is something that can put a strain on most people’s minds.

At least his legacy will be carried on – his son Mike plans to follow in the footsteps of his father, becoming a racing driver, and he’ll be going after the extremely high level of skill Michael Schumacher managed to build up during his career.

  1. My grandfather already had Alzheimer, and he’d already shown advanced symptoms. He was in a situation of stress, with many around him, as he was about to be operated after a nasty fall.
When he heard my voice he recognized me, said my name and cried.
    He didn’t survive the operation.
It’s likely Schumacher will never go much beyond the stage where he cries when he recognizes a voice.
    But then that’s already something.
