Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain to Be Full of Secrets!

The “Metal Gear Solid” series is going to get its next installment soon, and according to director Hideo Kojima, this one will be full of secrets for fans to hunt down in its vast world. This was revealed in an official announcement during an episode of “Kojima Station”.

The series was partly known for the attention to detail which the developers always put in each installment, particularly when it comes to level design. “Metal Gear Solid 3” was the peak of that, as it was packed full of small secrets that had fans excited for months after the release date. Traditionally cryptic, Kojima did not want to give any specific details about what will be included in the next game, however. According to him, it’s up to the fans to find out all the secrets by themselves, although Kojima said that the company is trying to develop the game in accordance with the modern trend of using the Internet to share information about gameplay experiences at unprecedented speeds.

The game’s upcoming release has fans across all platforms equally excited, and PC gamers seem to be expressing a strong interest in this title as well. “Metal Gear Solid” is traditionally a console franchise, but its popularity with the PC crowd is not to be underestimated, and it’s good to see that Konami are willing to let all of their fans in on the action.

In related news, Konami have confirmed that “Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes” is coming to Valve’s Steam market on December 18. One of the biggest questions that fans have been raising with regards to the franchise’s future, is whether the trend of releasing quality PC ports is going to continue. Nothing is known about the future games in the series yet, though Konami can certainly benefit from making full use of their fan base on the platform.

It seems that Konami are intent on supporting the PC crowd though, as the PC version of “Ground Zeroes” is going to see various special goodies exclusive to it, improving how the game looks over its console counterparts. These include extra graphics settings that can make the game look better, as well as extremely high resolutions which aren’t supported by the console version. Reports indicate that the PC version of the game looks significantly better than the console ones, and the improvements have had a noticeable effect. In an age where most developers are trying to do whatever they can to avoid putting in extra work when porting their games to the PC, this is a refreshing change, and hopefully a trend that will be picked up by other companies as well.
