Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes Gets an Official Price Drop, Restricted Free-Roam during Missions in Phantom Pain!

Recently Konami announced that Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will get an official price drop. The boxed version of this title is now available for the older generation consoles like Xbox 360 and PS3. You can easily get a digital copy of the game from Xbox Live and PlayStation Network at a price of just 20 dollars.

For the newer generation PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, the digital version will continue to sell at a higher price of $30. In December, a PC version of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes will be launched. It will support a native 4K resolution and will release through Steam.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes’ story was set in 1975, revolving around a prison base called Camp Omega. The game challenges players to infiltrate the base using a mixed combination of action and stealth mechanics. The game faced a lot of controversies regarding its length but still managed to sell around 1 million copies worldwide.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes is the prologue to the upcoming title Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain. It is rumored that a PC version of the game is under development, but Konami has not announced the official release date of the title.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Phantom Pain is the upcoming title that will feature an open-world setting. As long as you are not on a mission, you can wander around the world as much as you like. In his most recent podcast episode, Hideo Kojima shared a lot of details regarding how things will work in Phantom Pain. According to a report from Metal Gear Informer, it looks like the players are allowed to roam around the environment as much as they like. However, once they have accepted a mission, things will change dramatically.

The missions will always take place in a specified area on the world map. If a player leaves this area while the mission is ongoing, it will fail. Too much procrastination will also result in the failure of the mission. Instead of a menu system, missions can be accepted while the player is free-roaming. This is quite similar to the way we play the Grand Theft Auto titles.

Metal Gear Solid 5

Like any open-world game, when you are free-roaming, you will get to discover many side quests and missions.   Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will launch during the first quarter of 2015. The developers are yet to provide a specific release date. It will release for the older generation PS3 and Xbox 360 along with the next-gen PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
