Malcolm was possessed by Evelyn that made him recall his past so he could get an idea of who he really is. These past few episodes, Malcolm seemed to have really lost a grip of himself, so in one way or another, this is a form of help for him.
The reminiscent scenes were beautiful. He was interacting with ghostly figures. Malcolm’s illusion of this party has been so powerful that it broke Satan’s chains. Evelyn thought this would be the answer to getting her husband back but as Vanessa said, she should never underestimate Malcolm’s machismo. Malcolm then broke the chains.
While Evelyn played with his mind and heart, he still knew that there is still something missing. He spoke of love with Victor but he knew this would never happen to him because he is simply not a happy person.
