American singer-songwriter, record producer, and Grammy nominee Meghan Elizabeth Trainor is extremely proud to reveal that she once co-wrote a love song with Harry Styles of the very popular British-Irish boy band One Direction.
While nearly every teenage girl and ladies in their 20s are swooning over Harry and would do anything to get close to the One Direction member, Meghan already beat everyone to the draw. She did not only get close to him, she even wrote what she describes as a cute love song with Harry.
During the Radio 1 Breakfast Show on January 21, the “All About the Bass” singer disclosed that the cute love song she co-wrote with Harry is titled “Someday Maybe,” reports The Independent.
Trainor’s “All About the Bass” is nominated for record of the year honors at the Grammy’s scheduled in February, which she considers as a lifelong dream.
She is scheduled to make her first tour in the UK this coming April where she will be performing in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London.
Surprise at love song writing skills
Talking to radio show host Nick Grimshaw, Meghan was all praises for the One Direction member. She said that she was very impressed with Harry because he was a very talented songwriter. She also said that she felt unbelievable when she was with the former boyfriend of Taylor Swift.
Meghan said however that she is not sure whether the song “Someday Maybe” would ever be heard by music fans because it will all depend on whether a record company would produce it.
At 21 years of age, Meghan is a year older than Harry. So when they started working on the love song last year, which Trainor also described as cute acoustic love thing on her ukulele, she was apprehensive about the writing skills of the young member of One Direction.
So before coming to the scheduled composition gig with Harry, Meghan came in already with a prepared verse and chorus, thinking that a 20-year-old young singer would still not have the maturity to write that well.
She got the surprise of her life when Harry gave her very poetic and mature lyrics that was full of love. Meghan was overwhelmed to the point of telling the One Direction member that he really knows what love is and he sure knows how to write.
Multi-talented
Over the past couple of weeks, Harry Styles has been doing a lot of activities separate from his band members.
Early this month, he has been reported to be dealing with a Hollywood director and producer for a possible crack into acting after his stint with One Direction towards the end of this year.
Of late, Harry has been showcasing his songwriting skills working with Kodaline on their fourth album as well as with US rockers Good Charlotte.
