Actress Mayim Bialik, who plays Amy Farrah Fowler in the long-running American TV sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” on CBS says that Sheldon Cooper may have different intention for pulling out the ring shortly after Amy dumped him during the series finale of Season 8.
In a recent interview, the actress cautioned fans not to jump to conclusions about the real intention of Sheldon. She said that nobody knows what the story is with the ring that Sheldon pulled out after she broke up with him.
She added that nobody knows what Sheldon is planning to do with the ring. Nobody still knows if it was something he got from his mother or the process by which he got the ring and most especially what he intends to do with it, alluding that only Gollum knows about Sheldon’s original intention for the ring. When he was spurned by Amy, Sheldon began talking to the Gollum figurine on his desk before pulling out the ring, details the Latin Post.
Gollum, as everyone knows, is Smeagol, the fictional character from J.R. Tolkien’s “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” book and movie series.
Bialik says that viewers are just making assumptions on Sheldon’s true intention because it is super-exciting to do so. It also means that fans have followed the characters and love them so much that is why they are quite excited on what will happen next to the characters and their relationships.
Getting back together
Also in a recent webcam chat, Mayim Bialik said that she actually does not know if she can consider what happened between Amy and Sheldon in the final episode of Season 8 as breaking up.
She disclosed that the writers were very specific with the language that they used. Amy needed some time and she needed to step back and that’s what Mayim gave to the character during the final episode of Season 8.
The actress explained that the way she sees the whole Amy-Sheldon breakup thing, it was just a sense of breathing space which most relationships are allowed or entitled to.
She also revealed that she and Jim Parsons, who plays Sheldon in the TV series, were actually shocked during the table read for the script of the final episode titled “The Commitment Determination” when they both learned that Sheldon was actually planning to propose to Amy. They both think that it was quite powerful.
Mayim Bialik started young into acting as she actually played the younger version of Better Middler’s character in the 1988 drama “Beaches” along with Barbara Hershey.
She was also part of the stars for the TV series “Blossom” beginning in 1990 for five seasons and when the show ended in 1995, she took a decade-long break from show business to study and earn her doctorate degree in neuroscience at the UCLA.
Mayim first made it to “The Big Bang Theory” during its third season as a guest for a three-part episode and that got her interested in trying out acting again. She received positive reviews from her guest stint with the show that she came back as a recurring cast for Season 4 until she was made a series regular for Season 5.

I would hope that Penny dumps the wimpy hand wringing Leonard, I honestly can’t stand him. Almost ANYone is better than him, including Sheldon’s nemesis. Love the show but about to stop watching because him. Penny deserves better than him.
