Mass Effect 4 to Feature Familiar Plot Elements from Previous Games!

Even though “Mass Effect: Andromeda” is going to evolve the franchise and take it in a new direction, the game isn’t going to completely disregard its roots and we’re actually going to see some links to the original games in the new one. It’s not yet entirely clear just how deeply the new game will be connected with its predecessors, but we’ve been getting certain reports that are starting to paint a moderately clear picture.

Apparently, we’re going to see Cerberus coming back in the new game, establishing a good link between it and the previous entries in the franchise, and there are also going to be other details that bring the game closer to the older ones. There will be an antagonist who’s a cross between the Collectors and Vorcha, according to reports, and players will also be able to use a new transportation system in order to navigate the Andromeda. It’s interesting to note that the game will apparently be aimed at significantly improving the exploration factor of the franchise, and players will have more opportunities to roam around their surroundings and explore new things.

In addition, there will be more focus on making combat more interesting and giving players more options for approaching every situation of conflict. For example, there will be destructible covers, and players and their companions will also be given a lot more mobility in order to navigate the world around them and get to the places that they need to reach.

There are reports claiming that verticality will be a much more prominent feature in the level design of the new game, and while that sounds good by itself, some gamers are worried that the developers might overdo the feature if they’re not too careful. Games of this type tend to be a bit of a hit and miss scenario when it comes to verticality in their levels, and sometimes it can feel like it’s too much, especially when the levels are complex and require the player to constantly look around them in all kinds of directions.

Some critics and fans also seem a bit skeptical towards the idea of reusing old enemies in the new game, claiming that they want to see the producers pushing it forward more actively instead of reusing the same old plot elements that they had previously. While the old games really did have their cool elements which could be referenced in a nice way in the new title, it’s also important that “Mass Effect 4” defines its own identity and stands out on its own.

Of course, there are plenty of opportunities for the developers to do that with the game as well, and we’ve been hearing some reports about features that are going to make “Mass Effect 4” a lot more unique and help the game get improved recognition. That would be quite important in terms of living up to fans’ expectations too, as people certainly have some strong expectations towards this franchise right now.

“Mass Effect 3” had some problems and caused a rift in the community of the franchise, particularly with regards to how the game ended. People were mostly fond of the main game itself, but didn’t like the way the producers decided to conclude the story, and now fans are hopeful that BioWare aren’t going to repeat the same mistake all over again. A lot was said about “Mass Effect 3” around the time of this incident, and the situation was already discussed in detail from all sides.
