Mario Kart 8 Commercial Reveals New Nintendo Wii U GamePad!

One of the most popular video games for the Nintendo Wii is the Mario Kart series. Nintendo releases the Wii game console many years ago and it really never lived up to the potential of the Nintendo name. Most of the games seemed childish and cartoony, but the series of Mario games seemed to be a big hit with families and large groups of friends. Being able to use your motions to control the game was something that was never done with games before Nintendo made the Wii.

Fast forward a couple of years and it looks like Nintendo is ready to release a new console named the Wii U. The sales were not that great, as expected, compared to the Playstation 4 or the XBox One from Microsoft. With the upcoming release of the Mario Kart 8 video game, there has been spoilers, teasers and other details posted all over the web. One place that seems to be a good one to find information is the Nintendo YouTube channel.

According to some sources, there was a teaser video posted there for the new Mario Kart 8 that may or may not have featured a brand new Wii U GamePad. Any and all details regarding the new GamePad were blurred during the commercial and it seemed sort of sketchy according to some fans, but that did not stop the buzz from getting around this week. Game fans noted that the video was labeled as the “European Version” even though it was clearly on the Nintendo Japan YouTube account, bring further speculation and rumor control to the news.

Since the first video was noticed, there have been a few more videos posted eluding to the same result that a new GamePad was in the works. The additional videos that were posted basically talked about how the original video that showed the new GamePad was quite old and might have just been a concept that Nintendo was messing with. As it stands right now, the Nintendo Wii U does not support more than one type of GamePad, which has kept third party companies from making them.

According to at least one source posting online, Nintendo is looking for ways to implement more than one GamePad on future versions of the Nintendo Wii U console. The time is not right according to one Nintendo designer so there is little chance that two GamePad supported games will be coming to the Nintendo Wii U anytime soon.
