Initial reports claimed that Marco Polo would soon see Season 3 since it had a strong ending in the second season. Reports argued that even if Benedict Wong doesn’t return for Season 3 of Marco Polo, the show will see Lorenzo Richelmy returning as Marco Polo.
Season 3 is expected to shed light on the enemy Prester John. Fans got glimpses of Prester John in Season 2. In the finale, Prester John’s army will be seen approaching the Mongol camp in Xanadu. Marco notices the approaching force and warns Kublai Khan.
The third season will bring in Prester John and revolve around his story. The character will be the prime antagonist. The inspiration for the character with mythical powers is derived from an account of Marco Polo, published in the 14th century.
Mongol Empire will be challenged once again in Season 3 of Marco Polo. According to history, Prester John is the man responsible for wiping Mongol camps and leaving behind trails of dead bodies. Niccolo Polo left to wander along in the wilderness is likely to meet Prester John in the same way as Nayan.
Screen Rant informed that Kublai Khan and Prince Jingim (Remi Hill) will find out about the suicide of Prince Kokachin (Zhu Zhu) when Season 3 of Marco Polo returns.
