Manny Pacquiao Looking to Score His First Knockout in Seven Years Against WBO Welterweight Champ Jessie Vargas, More Details

Arum said that the other boxers have gotten the attention that might have gone to Pacquiao if he was in the US promoting the fight. But when Pacquiao arrived in the US, it was kind of expected that the promotion of the fight shifted its focus to him.

While Arum did not see the Philippine leg of the training of Pacquiao, his minions have relayed to him that the Filipino boxer looked great.

He and other experts believe that it is time for Pacquiao to perform at the level his talent. The Top Rank boss thinks that Pacquiao needs to not only win but to win in an exciting, entertaining fashion to rebuild his brand.

Because if Pacquiao can do so, that would make potential fights against Terrence Crawford, Danny Garcia, and/or Keith Thurman that much bigger next year or perhaps the year thereafter.

Arum pointed out that the boxing world has not seen Manny knocking people out like he did so spectacularly at one period of his career.

Instead, Pacquiao scored a lot of knockdowns in his recent fights. He had six knockdowns against Chris Algieri in their November 2014 fight and he had Bradley on the deck twice in his last fight in April of this year.

The Top Rank boss said that it is not that the Pacman is not hitting hard but because opponents fighting him are getting more cautious.
