Manny Pacquiao is no stranger if you are reading about boxing online, or at work or just hear people discussing it as you pass by on the streets. He is thirty-seven years old now and is back in the news each week since his failed attempt to beat Floyd Mayweather back in May of last year. He claimed that he would be able to beat him if given another chance, however that is not going to be the case.
Since then, Manny Pacquiao has talked about retiring from the ring and that is what is taking up the news wire this week. Manny Pacquiao was reportedly spotted in the Philippines and the reason was to get ready for his last fight. His last fight is going to be against Timothy Bradley in April of this year and even though it might seem like an easy fight to those that watch boxing regularly, the 37-year old is still going through the motions to prepare.
The Philippines has a training complex where Manny Pacquiao has been spotted and that is where he will train until he meets Bradley for the third time in his career. Right now, Pacquiao and Bradley are tied, so this last match will be known as the “rubber” match between the two. Ultimately, the end result will be the end of Manny Pacquiao’s career, but on a side note it will feature for the world which boxer is tops.
Like many other professionals, the fans out there do not believe this will be his last fight, but that is not what Manny Pacquiao has said. The fight will be featured at the MGM Grand and according to Manny Pacquiao, it will be good to “be hanging up my gloves after this fight”. As expected, Manny’s promoter has not ruled out the fact that he could be back in the ring in the future, but that is just what he is supposed to say to lessen the burden of the “I told you so” fans in case it does happen.
His promoter claims that since he has been in the boxing game for more than fifty years, he knows exactly what Manny is going to do when he hears that final bell ring. The fact that Manny Pacquiao did not beat Mayweather has been bothering the world and his promoter claims that even though Mayweather retired after the richest fight in history, he hopes he will come back for a rematch some day. Another thing that could be getting in the way of Manny Pacquiao coming back to the ring is his political career. If he decides to try and get elected to the Senate, then that will change things.
