There have been more and more rumors about “Man of Steel 2” on the horizon, and it’s clear that fans love to speculate about this particular film. Some of that interest seems to stem from hopes that the new representation of Superman will address some of the issues with the character we’ve seen recently.
It’s true that the recent adaptations of Superman have been a bit different from his original idea, and have strayed away from the core concepts of the character to some extent. Sure, fans still seem attracted to him and he has plenty of followers, but many are claiming that he’s lost a certain cheerful aspect of his personality, and they would love to see that coming back in “Man of Steel 2”.
That’s probably why there are so many discussions about the film right now, and so many of them are particularly focused on how Superman is going to be presented in the new film. At the same time, fans also have other questions that they keep bringing up, and the main villain of the films seems to be among the top of their concerns.
Indeed, we have no idea who Superman is going to go up against in “Man of Steel 2”, and it’s even possible that the film could have multiple antagonists too. That would be a bit of overkill, according to some fans, but we still wouldn’t put it past the producers of the film if they want to try drawing in some more people with some more explosive, action-filled scenes.
According to some fans though, it would be better if they instead focused on one villain but developed his character as fully as possible, which would also give plenty of opportunity for exposition of Superman’s own character.
As for some specific suggestions, Metallo and Brainiac seem to be the most commonly brought up choices for the main villains of the film. In fact, Brainiac has been mentioned more than once in various places so far, so it’s starting to seem more and more likely that he will at least make an appearance in the film in some form.
Of course, there is a lot of time to go before the film hits the screen, so it’s questionable if we could have actually heard any legitimate leaks about the villains planned for it. We don’t know the exact release date yet, but reports indicate that the film will not be ready until at least 2018. With that in mind, it’s possible the producers haven’t even settled on some specific details of the plot yet.
There are even claims that we are not going to see the film until 2019, which raises some questions about the kind of production effort that’s going into it. Should we expect something particularly special from “Man of Steel 2” if it really does take that long to produce the film, or is this just the result of the producers having a busy schedule?
It will take some time to find out for sure, but until then, we’re sure that the people behind this film are always keeping an eye on those constant discussion among their fans.
After all, it’s a gold mine of information about what people want to see in the next film, as well as for possible ideas and hints on what to avoid. All in all, it must be a very different story to produce a film today than it was a few decades ago, thanks to the Internet.
