Iranian karate practitioner Nasrin Malekan managed to win the medal following defeating her Indonesian and Egyptian opponents who grabbed the silver and bronze medals respectively.
The 3rd Islamic Solidarity Games opened in Palembang on September 22, and will wrap up on October 1.
Iranian squad have managed to snatch 12 gold medals since the beginning of the competitions.
A total of 88 athletes are representing Iran in the competitions. Athletes from 55 countries are competing in archery, athletics, badminton, basketball, beach volleyball, football, karate, swimming, taekwondo, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting and wushu.
