The holidays are coming up, and with them, various TV shows are wrapping up their current airing schedule and are preparing for a pause. Around this time, the producers of many shows start experimenting with interesting ideas for their plots, making changes that are not always warmly received by fans – especially in shows with a tendency for more drama. It seems that “The Vampire Diaries” is going to see something similar in its current season 6, as the finale of the mid-season is approaching, and with it, some dramatic events according to the producers.
Bonnie won’t be able to make it back from her “trip” to the past, and she’ll remain stuck in 1994 – but the episode will still pay some attention to her, as she’ll be shown remembering the good times she’s had with her friends in the past.
Meanwhile, Stefan will have to talk to Caroline, and giver her news that, according to the plot synopsis, will shake things up significantly for future episodes. It’s not known exactly what the two will talk about, although looking at how the season has been developing so far, various guesses can be made, and fans have certainly been quite active in this regard.
The Gemini coven will be discussed in detail in the coming episodes, particularly in episode 8 and the ones immediately following it. This is a subplot that fans have been eager to dig into for quite a while now, and the producers have been teasing at major developments to this side of the story lately. It seems that this is finally becoming a reality, although it’s not certain if the plot will be tied up before the end of season 6’s middle and the holiday breaks. Judging from the way the story has been moving so far overall, it’s likely that something major will still be left for the second half of the season, as the Gemini coven is too major of a subplot to finish it in just the remaining few episodes until Christmas.
The mid-season finale will also include some events that will introduce major changes to the plot, separate from the ones already listed – although the producers have been very cryptic about what this could mean. They have only described the events as “chapter-ending moves” and have stated that they will change a lot for everyone. It should go without saying that fans have been going crazy speculating over what could happen before the end of the mid-season, although it’s certain that fans of “The Vampire Diaries” are in for an interesting holiday season, perhaps one filled with anxiety about the upcoming episodes of the show.
