Mafia 3 Gets Performance Patch on PC, Game Sets New Sales Records for Publisher 2K!

“Mafia 3” has been out for a while now, and even though the initial release had some rough edges, players were still delighted with what the game had to offer, and it quickly became the fastest-selling title for its publisher 2K Games. At this point, it’s clear that the game was a winner for the studio, but they’re not relying on their initial success to get them through the next months, as they’ve also been working hard on new updates.

The latest one was just released, and added a bunch of new content to the game, while it also improved its performance on the PC by a little bit. The update also adds some free content which was already requested by players previously, but it looks like the performance update is the truly important part for most.

The initial release of “Mafia 3” did have some issues in this regard, as PC gamers reported that the game ran in a somewhat unpredictable manner on their systems, even on more powerful ones. It took some time for the game’s developers to localize the issue, but it looks like they’ve finally sorted it out, as reports about this update have been nothing but positive.

Various other minor improvements were introduced with this update as well, such as interface refinements, upgrades to the graphics, and more. Some additional bugs were fixed on top of the performance problems too, and for example players should no longer face any issues when saving their game progress.

Players were quick to do some tests with the new performance improvements, and it does look like the game runs better now, although there seem to be some reports from players who’re still not getting the kind of performance their systems should entail.

It’s not clear if those are anecdotal reports or if there is something more major that affects more players, but only time will tell. The main problem with these issues on the PC is that it’s impossible to tell whether the problem has been truly resolved or not until the patch has been out for a while.

With so many players across various system configurations, there can always be certain edge cases that are more difficult to detect, so players should not only be patient, but also diligent in reporting any problems they encounter to the developers.

So far, it looks like the studio has been taking those reports quite seriously, as they didn’t waste any time in releasing the first performance patch. Hopefully the community will be able to guide them to the resolution of any other performance problems that arise (as well as other issues the game may have).

Meanwhile, the studio has promised more free content in the future, including more major updates than the current one, so players should stay tuned. Especially those who’ve been feeling a bit bored with the game lately might want to keep an eye out for any news about new content coming up. It’s not unlikely that the holiday season could bring some extra free goodies.

Considering the performance of this game on the market so far, it makes full sense for 2K to keep working on it and improve it with some additional updates. The studio has struck gold with this release, and they have earned a lot of respect from their fans, but they can make these effects even more pronounced with some carefully released free updates.
