The latest trailer of Season 6 of the American dance competition reality show “Dance Moms” was aired early this month and one of its main highlights was Maddie Ziegler performing pirouettes.
Seeing Maddie in the trailer was enough for many fans of “Dance Moms” to feel secure that their favorite young dancer will remain in the show’s Season 6, contrary to rumors that she will be leaving the TV series after Season 5.
However, it will not be a full-time participation for Maddie Ziegler in the upcoming season, due to premiere in the Lifetime channel on January 5, 2016. Reports have it that Maddie will not be available in some episodes of “Dance Moms” as she will be busy working on other things.
The show’s breakout star
Maddie Ziegler is the breakout star of “Dance Moms” Season 5. After the Season 5 finale of the TV series, there were rumors that she was no longer returning to Season 6 of the dance competition reality show.
Ziegler has starred in three of Sia’s music videos and said that she would like to focus more on acting rather than dancing. In fact, she will be starring in Sia’s upcoming movie titled “Sister.”
There were also previous reports that the 13-year-old girl wants to continue her dancing even as she expressed her desire to act on movies and scripted TV shows. But the dancing she was referring to may no longer be with “Dance Moms” as Maddie reportedly auditioned for the Teen Vogue’s Young Hollywood 2015 list, according to the rumors then.
She also posted her photo in her Instagram account then and captioned it telling her fans to watch the cast of the Young Hollywood Portfolio during their audition tapes. She also gave a link showing her bio where she was seen doing pirouettes, dancing on tables, playing with a cake, and showing off her latest moves in her video audition clip.
It seems that the decision of Maddie Ziegler depended on her being accepted by Teen Vogue. So if she was accepted, she was likely to give up “Dance Moms,” which appears to be her safety net.
Now that she is confirmed for Season 6 of “Dance Moms,” it appears that her Teen Vogue dream will be set in the backburner, at least for the time being.
One last season
“Dance Moms” can only hold the surging career of Maddie Ziegler so much as latest reports now have it that Season 6 will be her swan song for the popular TV show.
The upcoming season of “Dance Moms” will be the last for Maddie as she plans to focus more on taking on acting roles, reports Life & Style.
A source close to the young dancer said that Maddie was already cast in a feature film called “Sister” written by frequent collaborator Sia, who is also set to helm the movie.
The insider disclosed that acting is something that Maddie is really excited to pursue and she wants to take advantage of the fact that there is a good demand for her services now. Ziegler reportedly wrapped up filming for the movie called “The Book of Henry” where she co-stars with Naomi Watts, Lee Pace, and Sarah Silverman.
While there are plenty of good dancers in “Dance Moms,” the show would surely be different without Maddie in it and it would be interesting to know if her quitting might also cause the cancellation of the show for Season 7 in 2017.
The Daily Mail also confirmed the decision of Maddie Ziegler not to sign for any more seasons of “Dance Moms” as she sets her sights on Hollywood.
Maddie Ziegler has been part of “Dance Moms” since it premiered on Lifetime in 2011. Because of her inborn terpsichorean prowess, she has earned a lot of fans.
She eventually landed herself a wider audience with her collaboration with Australian star and singer Sia. Maddie has starred in three of Sia’s music videos from her 2014 album “1,000 Forms of Fear” including “Chandelier,” “Elastic Heart,” and “Big Girls Cry.”
