According to recent reports from Apple, they are currently preparing for an all new release of the MacBook Air Retina in 2015. The latest device will arrive with a radically new design as reported by 9to5Mac.com. The major changes, which can be expected by buyers, include features like that of full-sized USB ports, SD card slots as well as MagSafe connections.
As stated by the website, the MacBook Air Retina will have a higher-resolution display with a standard thinner and light-weight body. According to the latest information from Apple sources, the publication will describe the hardware specifications of the latest MacBook Air based on the artists’ representation of the upcoming device. The upcoming device will be reportedly smaller than the present generation 13inch variant. It will also be thinner in build compared to the other 11-inch models.
The latest Core processors and graphics chipsets that were launched by Intel on Monday will permit Apple to build the MacBook Air Retina without losing out a lot on the battery life. According to analysts, the latest range of high resolution displays on the MacBook Air will run unimpeded with enough battery usage available. According to Shane Rau, PC chip analyst with IDC, Apple represents those customers that Intel wishes to serve most.
He further stated that even in the lower end, the latest Broadwell chipsets can easily support a ‘higher-resolution display’. The fifth-generation Core processors from Intel have been dubbed ‘Broadwell’ and were officially unveiled at the CES event on Monday. New processor chips will also be introduced by manufacturers like Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Asus, and Lenovo.
The dual-core i3, i5, and i7 Broadwell Processor chips are designed specifically for the modern Notebooks mini-PCs and desktops. They are paired with the premium Iris 6100 graphics core, or the HD 5500 AND HD 6000 cores from Intel. The latter two cores draw quite less power compared to the former.
On the other hand, the makers decided to reduce the bezels on the MacBook Air Retina display in order to fit a relatively large-sized screen on a smaller body. Besides the overall dimensions of this device, the 12-inch MacBook Air Retina speakers, trackpad and keyboard have also changed in a rather profound manner.
The trackpad will have the same width compared to the 11-inch MacBook Air but with a slightly taller height. This makes it nearly touch the bottom of the frame and keyboard. The items on both sides of the ports have also witnessed major changes. The MacBook Air Retina has been dubbed by insiders as the ‘MacBook Stealth’. This upcoming device will possibly launch in mid-October 2015. At the same time, other reports indicate that the production of the Air is still in the on-going phase.
Stay tuned for more updates on the MacBook Air Retina!
