Aside from being an actor and a rocker, Macaulay is actually an author and an artist too. Culkin has overcome the more tragic pitfalls of former child stardom that tripped up some of his contemporaries.
In an interview during the release of his novel titled “Junior” back in 2005, which reflected on his arrest the year before for possession of marijuana, Culkin said that he was a former child star so he was supposed to be more miserable than he was already then. He added that he took a certain amount of pride that he did not join the company of other former child actors who ended up having really miserable lives.
He said that his arrest only made some naysayers think that they were right all along about him, that as a former child actor, he will grow up and end up having a miserable life.
But it seems like Macaulay Culkin has had no regrets even when he retired from acting. His connections in Hollywood may still be around, but it’s just that he’s no longer cut out to be an actor the way he used to be when he was still a child. His last movie as a child actor was “Richie Rich” when he was 14 years old.
