The band is from Australia and has been making the rounds over the last few years to the excitement of young girls all over the world. Even though the band does not prefer to be called a “boy band”, that title has been tossed around quite a bit since they made the mainstream.

According to reports, Luke Hemmings is obsessed with Selena Gomez and even though that is not really any big news since she garners the attention from many, his “love shrine” to her is a little bigger news. Luke Hemmings has been called obsessed by many outlets, in terms of his apparent crush on the young singer.
Some of the other things that are adding to the “obsession” that he has for the singer, which is older than he is by six years, are the fact that he has been sending her letters. According to an interviews, Luke Hemmings has been sending her fan mail and even writing her poems. The bad thing is that this information was passed along by his bandmates during the interview, so there is no way to know if they are telling the truth or spreading nonsense.
The bandmates talked about the mail, the poems and a “love shrine in the kitchen”, stating that it is quite “weird”. Luke Hemmings has been trying to approach the singer with hopes of getting something going, but reportedly chickened out each time. Right now, what we know is that he follows her on Twitter and has been trying to work up the courage to send her a direct message, but did not want to seem too creepy. There is nothing wrong with having a crush, but you should know where to draw the line.
5 Seconds of Summer has been very busy over the last few years and it would be amazing if Luke Hemmings had time to build a relationship with Selena Gomez, but one would never know. Fans of the two think they would be a great couple, of course, like fans of most of the young stars all over the world. Even though the members of the band apparently have something to say about Gomez, she recently talked about moving the negativity out of her life and being able to trust who is a part of her life.
