Louisville Auto Show Guests Got to See a Preview of the 2016 Ford Explorer!

Ford are known for liking to give public previews of their upcoming models, and those who’ve been waiting for the 2016 Explorer would be lucky if they were present at the Louisville Auto Show, where the company gave a preview of the upcoming vehicle, showing off its new design, engine versions, and the increased use of modern technology, including better cameras and navigation systems.

The new 2016 Explorer is still in a prototype phase, so a lot could change by the time the truck hits the market. Still, visitors of the auto show were able to check out the new and improved visual design, as well as the different engine versions that the truck will be offered in. A lot of attention was paid to the new camera technology, which Ford seem to be quite proud of – or at least of the way they’re utilizing it in the new truck.

There’s still a chance to check out the truck too, as the show will be running for one more day on Sunday, up until 4 p.m. – so those who’re in the area and are really excited to see what Ford are preparing, should definitely head over to the expo and give the new Explorer a glance. Keep in mind what we said above about its prototype stage though – those going to the show shouldn’t set any expectations about the truck from what they see, as Ford could end up altering the design a lot by the end.

The truck will be offered in several versions – the basic Explorer, the Explorer XLT, Explorer Limited, as well as Explorer Sport and Explorer Platinum, the most expensive version for those who like to splurge a little on their auto purchases. The Platinum edition comes with 20-inch wheels, stylish chrome grille, extra features and a noticeably better exterior design. It also offers the extra engine features from the Sport edition, but it also nearly doubles the price compared to the base version. Those who know what they’re looking for will definitely appreciate the extra choice though.

And as for the base version, it’s not that bad either – with its pack of features, the $31,995 price tag seems completely reasonable, and Ford should be able to attract plenty of buyers for the new model, especially if they pull off the marketing right. There’s also plenty of middle ground in the other models, so everyone interested should be able to find something suitable for them in everything Ford is offering. Is the 2016 Explorer going to be the true market hit that many critics are predicting it as, or is it getting hyped up too much for its own good?
