Season 5 of the American Western crime drama TV series “Longmire” has yet to have an official premiere date on Netflix but the consensus of the rumors are that it could make its debut this coming fall.
However, there are also rumors saying that the upcoming fifth season could be the last for the show. But many of the show’s fans would like to believe that because there has been no confirmation yet about the show’s future beyond Season 5, it could still go on for a couple more seasons beginning with the fifth season.
Talking about the show’s cancellation after Season 5 is a little too early, according to some fans considering that the fifth season has yet to be aired.
But once “Longmire” Season 5 becomes available on Netflix, it will be ready in one whole bundle, just like most Netflix shows including“House of Cards,”“Orange is the New Black,” and many others.
Reports also have it that it is likely that Netflix will drop the first official trailer of “Longmire” Season 5 in summer, reports the Christian Times.
Persistent plotline rumors
Of late, the most persistent among the “Longmire” Season 5 plotline rumors are those claiming that Walt Longmire, played by Robert Taylor, will finally have a romantic relationship with his deputy Vic Moriarty, played by Katee Sackhoff.
However, there are also rumors saying that it would be absurd to see Longmire and Moriarty hooking up because of their age difference that they actually looked more like a father and daughter team.
The rumors about Walt and Vic finally happening in the fifth season of the TV series also appear far-fetched from the Season 4 finale which saw Walt having that romantic interlude with Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan, played by Ally Walker, before it was cut short by a burglar, details the Christian Daily.
Some fans and critics also believe that the romance between Walt and Vic will never come into reality as Walt is obliged to support the son of Donna.
Keeping fans in the loop
Since the start of filming for “Longmire” Season 5, actress Katee Sackhoff has been sharing updates about the production to her fans and followers via her Twitter account.
Just recently, Sackhoff shared on Twitter that the title of the ninth episode of “Longmire” is going to be “Continual Soiree” written by prolific writer Tony Tost.
Meanwhile, some fans and critics believe that “Longmire” Season 5 might possibly give way for the airing of “Narcos” Season 2 on Netflix because the latter shall apparently be airing this coming September.
Although it is possible that both could be released in the same month but they would not be competing with each other since they shall be released on different days.
There has been a previous report saying that a new character will be making life difficult for Walt Longmire in the upcoming Season 5 of “Longmire” and it is no other than veteran actor Dylan Walsh.
It has been confirmed that Dylan Walsh will get back to the saddle in the Netflix drama expected to air in the second half of this year. The “Nip/Tuck” alum recently starred on “Unforgettable” and his entry in “Longmire” is actually a reunion of sorts with executive producer Greer Shephard, who was the showrunner of “Nip/Tuck” too.
Dylan Walsh shall take on the recurring role of Shane Muldoon, a character who is described as a boss of a criminal enterprise, but who cannot be mistaken for such because of his curated demeanor as well as calm and assertive intelligence. Muldoon is also Eddie Hefferman’s criminal boss.
Walsh was a perfect choice for the character who is reported to exude charming manners that ultimately give him an ominous edge.
The actor has just finished his six-season role on the FX plastic surgery drama TV series “Nip/Tuck” where he played the role of Dr. Sean McNamara.
He subsequently had roles on other popular TV series including “Castle” and “NCIS: New Orleans,” before recently starring on “Unforgettable.”
