The LG G4 is set to be unravelled by the Korean tech company on April 28 but some three weeks before the launching event for its latest flagship smartphone, LG has rolled out its Android 5.0 Lollipop – based LG UX 4.0 interface.
Aside from its material design, which is what the new Android 5.0 Lollipop brings about, the interface has a lot of new features including Quick Shot, Smart Board, Expert Camera mode, and Smart Alerts.
LG UX 4.0 interface is designed on human-centered philosophy to offer users an easy-to-use experience because it is simple and also intuitive.
The interface will be released by the Korean company for the LG G4 before rolling it out to other LG handset models in the near future.
New features
The Quick Shot feature lets users easily capture scenes even if the device screen is turned off. All the user needs to do is to press the volume button down at the back of the phone and the camera is quickly activated to take a picture.
The Smart Board feature combines a lot of information from various apps including calendar, music, health, among many frequently-used programs into a widget for easy retrieval and access by the user, notes Newstactics.
As its name implies, the Expert Camera mode offers various settings for taking professional-level pictures. It also comes with the Gallery app that automatically puts pictures taken at different times but in the same location, in one album.
Then there’s the Smart Alerts feature that gathers information about the lifestyle and behaviour of the user and provides real-time push notifications and custom alerts to the smartphone.
If one is used to jogging in the morning for example, all the details with regards to his passion will be put on display on his smartphone. These may include weather updates, heartbeat rate, and other important information relative to the regular fitness regimen.
More tweaks
In addition to the key features, LG has also incorporated more tweaks into the UX 4.0 interface to give users a customized experience including improved Calendar, as well as Gallery and Ring ID.
The LG UX 4.0 interface will be immediately available on the LG G4 once the new flagship smartphone is officially launched on April 28.
The Korean company has also released 150-second official video teaser of the LG UX 4.0 interface showing the major new features and tweaks of the firmware and how users can take advantage of it in their day-to-day lives.
Before coming out with the LG UX 4.0 interface, which was not too different from the interface used on the LG G3, the Korean tech company actually set out a goal to make user experience both easy and personalize. It seems that LG has come up with a winner of an interface with the LG UX 4.0.
