With the resounding success of the LG G3 when it was released in July last year, all eyes are on the Korean tech company for the unveiling of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG G4.
Latest word is that LG might be releasing its latest flagship smartphone sometime in the middle of 2015 or around July. A date which is just about right to complete the one-year cycle of the LG G3 before a new flagship handset is officially launched.
As the company does not want to be totally left out in the all-important Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 to be held in Barcelona, Spain on March 2 to 5 given that other smartphone makers are planning to launch their latest flagship devices before or during the event, LG will be joining the launching bandwagon too.
In place of its highly touted and widely anticipated flagship smartphone, LG will actually be launching four new mid-range handsets during the MWC 2015.
All these four smartphones will be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop upon their formal launching and according to LG, they shall come with premium design elements and user experience that are normally associated with the company’s flagship or high-end smartphones, reports India Today Tech.
Four new smartphones
LG said that it will be launching the four smartphones namely, the Magna, the Spirit, the Leon, and the Joy at the MWC 2015 event to be held next week in Barcelona, Spain.
The South Korean tech company said that the new handsets will be positioned in the mid-range market which means that it will be affordable and less expensive than LG’s flagship smartphones, although the company has yet to disclose or give a hint to its official prices.
Accordingly, LG has already allowed the release of the four new mid-range handsets in selected markets where it is expected to be widely received.
Apart from featuring the Android 5.0 Lollipop as its mobile operating system, the Magna, the Spirit, the Leon, and the Joy shall also have the features that are normally found on LG flagship smartphones including the Gesture Shot and the Glance View.
