Until then, the G4 is shaping up to be a great device and it’s attracting a lot of attention, so LG should probably focus on marketing the device properly and keeping interest in it active. People are looking for new information on the phone all the time, and if LG are not careful with dismissive statements like the one about the need for fast charging, they could find themselves in trouble.
Their initial claim that people don’t need Quick Charge 2.0 on a device with a removable battery already managed to generate some controversy, which is probably why the company was so quick to retract the statement and clarified that the device will come out with complete support for the feature.
We don’t know if that was actually a last minute change in the device’s design though, or if it was already planned beforehand but just ignored by LG’s marketing department. Both are possible, judging by the way the company responded to the situation initially, and we certainly don’t see it as impossible that the whole problem was simply a matter of internal misunderstanding within the company.
