There have been rumors about an LG G4 Pro coming to the market for quite some time now, although we didn’t have a lot of official information. Now, LG have reportedly filed for a new trademark that could shed some light on that situation – they’ve apparently registered the name LG G4 Note, and many seem to believe that this is actually the new incarnation of the G4 Pro.
This adds to the rumors that the device is being designed as a direct competitor for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, and this battle could introduce some interesting changes to the market. The “Note” style of smartphones has been gaining some popularity lately and more people seem to be turning in that direction, as there is a lot of obvious potential in smartphones with a larger physical design.
There are reports that the new device is going to come with its own special stylus, mimicking the design of the Galaxy Note 5 as much as possible, but we don’t know if there will be any special features for the stylus or even if the device will feature any advanced input support for an accessory of this type.
How much power and performance can we expect from this device, given that it’s supposed to be a flagship? According to reports, it should be quite the powerful phone, although it could also fall behind some other devices on the market if LG aren’t careful with its specifications. They are rumored to be aiming towards a more pocket-friendly version of the traditional flagship device that the market knows and expects, but hopefully this isn’t going to come at the expense of hardware specifications.
Other details that we have about the device are somewhat scarce right now and there is a lot of confusion over what the phone is going to offer. It’s supposed to come with two cameras and they will both be quite good in their own class, although users shouldn’t expect any miracles in this regard as the phone is not being designed with a powerful camera as its top priority.
And in the end, we also have no information about the most important feature of the device – the release date. There are various possibilities for that, and most people are expecting to see the phone quite soon. But if the most prominent rumors turn out to be true, we aren’t going to see it until the end of 2015 as it’s aimed for a very late release. However, it should at least be ready during 2015.
Something that fans of LG have been requesting with regards to the new phone is a high degree of customization, and it seems like LG have been listening as the device is going to come with various features available for tweaking. At least that’s what the rumors are saying – but buyers will reportedly get to pick their own cover, and will have options for extending the device’s functionality with a memory card and other features.
All in all, it’s shaping up to be an interesting phone just based on the rumors alone. But with so little information about it, we don’t know what’s true and what’s just the product of fans’ imaginations. It might turn out that the phone is even better than the rumors are claiming, actually, but that’s a bit of a stretch right now and we should definitely wait for some more official information before jumping to such conclusions.
