LG’s G4 is still some time away from its release, and it’s not known exactly when we’ll see the new device on the market. There was speculation that March would be the big month, as LG were rumored to be gearing up for a release at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. However, sources now claim that the company has decided to skip the MWC for the G4, and are instead aiming for a possible release in April.
It’s not known exactly why LG have decided to abandon their idea for the MWC, but rumors indicate that they simply felt the timing wasn’t right, and wanted to prepare the device more adequately before bringing it out to the market or even showing it to people in detail. In addition, LG would have faced some serious competition from other companies making their own big announcements at around the same time, so it does make sense that they would want to wait a little and make the release at another time, when they could get more attention from the crowds.
Samsung’s Galaxy S6 is coming up, and it would have very likely stolen all the thunder from LG’s release if they made it at around the same time. While rushing the device is obviously out of the question, delaying the release is a wise move and speaks volumes of LG’s dedication to make a good impression on their customers.
The company is seemingly aiming to release the device at some point between Samsung and Apple’s big releases, which would give them just about enough time to make a solid entry into the market, and ensure that people pay attention to the phone.
Reports claim that the device will offer a 5.3 inch screen with a 1440×2560 resolution, and a 16 megapixel main camera. It will be powered by a 64 bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, with 3 GB of RAM and a solid external design that gives it a simple, yet elegant look. If LG give the device a good price as well, the phone could easily become a fan favorite in no time, especially among those looking for a more powerful Android experience and who like to squeeze every bit of performance out of their devices in general.
LG have also been paying a lot of attention to feedback lately, as there have been some small common complaints with the company’s previous devices, mostly on the software side – and reports indicate that LG have acted accordingly in the development of the new phone, and are trying really hard to make sure that the phone matches the needs of their buyers.
