Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton is looking to start another career outside the race track. And it is no other than a music career, which he is already familiar with, having been into a seven-year relationship with former Pussycat Doll lead singer Nicole Scherzinger. Their relationship only ended early in February.
Yahoo! Sports reported that Hamilton has been in negotiations with Jay Z about the possibility of the F1 car racer eventually releasing his own music.
Apparently, Hamilton has long been in discussions with Jay Z’s Roc Nation about starting a career in music. The Formula One world champion has apparently spent time in the studios and already has something in the works. The only issue being discussed is whether Roc Nation would be willing to release it and if so, when.
It also turns out that outside of Jay Z and his Roc Nation, Hamilton has also been talking to other music industry personalities about helping him start and build a music career all his own.
A source close to Hamilton said that Jay Z appears to be convinced about the kind of music talent that the F1 car driver uniquely possessed and is very much willing to release some of those songs.
The source added that it is a bit early to tell of the possibilities for Hamilton but it looks likely that some of his initial repertoire will be released soon.
A music enthusiast
While Hamilton spent most of his time in the race track and in many race circuits all over the world, the source said that the Formula One world champion loves music a lot. He is said to be a music enthusiast and spends much of his free time, whenever he is off the race track, recording songs.
It was not clear if being into a relationship with Nicole Scherzinger reinforced his passion for music but it is more likely that his ex-girlfriend contributed to Hamilton being a music lover.
The source also disclosed that Hamilton has been spending a lot of time in the studio because he has been working with A-List music collaborators. That’s in addition to the fact that he really takes his passion for music very seriously.
A pop career in the offing
While Formula One racing is still the foremost priority of Lewis Hamilton, the chances of him starting a music career is also very possible considering that he has already shown his collaborators that he can really sing.
In an interview last year, Lewis said that he would have probably made about 25 to 30 songs if he concentrated and doubled his dedication to music.
He was also quoted as saying previously that he has heard a lot of bad songs making the charts and that he has some music in his arsenal that he and some other people really say is better. It is not clear however how former girlfriend Nicole Scherzinger is taking Hamilton’s budding music career.
