The storyline of “The Big Bang Theory” has been moving in interesting new directions lately, as the show has been exploring new horizons. Each character is being forced to step out of their comfort zone, and this has resulted in some peculiar new dynamics between the cast. At the same time, Sheldon and Leonard weren’t able to take in their newfound boredom too lightly, and were quick to express their disappointment when they had to sit around with nothing better to do.
Still, they did take the opportunity to discuss some of the current events in their lives, and Leonard finally revealed his intention to move in together with Penny. Sheldon, on the other hand, didn’t seem too enthusiastic about the idea, but didn’t have the opportunity to say much, other than suggesting that Leonard and Penny take things slowly and try to ease into their relationship as best as possible.
Again in one of the more recent episodes, science was pitted against faith when Raj asked Howard to come along with him to visit a Hindu temple. During the visit, Raj attempted to explain his faith and shed some light on why he finds it so important, and while the conversation did go over a few bumps, it seemed to wrap up rather well in the end.
Meanwhile, Steve Molaro, executive producer on the show, has been revealing some extra hints about the new season, in particular regarding an event that many fans have been waiting to see for a long time – the marriage of Leonard and Penny. According to Molaro, while the wedding is still entirely on the table, it’s also not something the writers are too much in a rush about, and it might take some time before the event actually happens on the screen.
Before that, Molaro stated, the show will have to address the issue of Carol Ann Susi’s death, something which everyone is still processing, and will likely take some time to fully sink in. It’s not known if that event is going to actually play into the wedding in any way, although it looks like the writers still have a few things to say about it. Dealing with the loss of a colleague and close friend is never easy, even less so when it’s related to one’s work on such a fundamental way. While the show’s cast have been relatively quiet about the issue and haven’t said much about how it has affected them, it’s obvious that they are all suffering and will need some time to fully move on, while also making sure that their work pays proper tribute to Carol Ann Susi’s contribution to the show.
