‘Legends of Tomorrow’ Might Add John Constantine to the Titular Team

Just when everyone thought they have seen the last of Matt Ryan’s John Constantine, comes the news that the actor might be reprising the role of the occult detective once again.

Reports say that Constantine could join the show as a member of the titular team of “Legends of Tomorrow.” What’s interesting is that the character will enter the series on its second season.

According to Bleeding Cool, Ryan will be added as a series regular on DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2 slated to premiere in 2017.

The addition of the 34-year-old actor comes as the show is reportedly planning to radically switch casts and missions each season.

NBC cancelled “Constantine” after one season, but Ryan appeared as the Hellblazer in an episode of “Arrow” in its current fourth season.

In episode 5 titled “Haunted,” Stephen Amell’s Oliver Queen called in a favor from Constantine where he restored Sara Lance’s soul following her resurrection from the Lazarus Pit.

“Arrow” showrunners have said that Constantine’s appearance was a one-time thing, but the positive reception that his guest appearance received probably ignited some interest to bring the character back to life.

If reports are indeed true, then Constantine’s inclusion in the superhero ensemble will certainly allow more supernatural explorations and pave the way for other magical DC characters to be introduced such as Zatanna or Doctor Fate.

Aside from Ryan, reports are also rife that “The Vampire Diaries” alum Steven R. McQueen will be added to the cast for Season 2 as another new hero. After leaving the supernatural series, McQueen has a recurring role on “Chicago Fire.”

“Arrow” fans have petitioned the 27-year-old actor last year to play Dick Grayson a.k.a. Nightwing but nothing ever came out of that.

“Legends of Tomorrow” hasn’t been renewed for a second season let alone premiere its pilot episode so it is best to take the news about Constantine coming back to the small screen with a pinch of salt.

The upcoming The CW show will consist of characters which starred in the “Arrow” and “The Flash” universe along with a slew of new ones.

The CW’s takes on the popular DC Comic series have been successful so far and the trailer for “Legends of Tomorrow” just proves that the network is gearing up to provide an epic television experience to its viewers.

The network just dropped the full trailer for the TV series recently and it gives the right amount of excitement for fans to look forward to next year.

Slated to premiere on January 21, 2016, the series will revolve around Arthur Darvill’s Rip Hunter recruiting a group of heroes and villains in present time to travel through time.

These individuals must set their differences aside in order to put down Vandal Savage, the villain who plans to spearhead the world’s destruction.

The premise of the upcoming TV series sees the villainous Savage taking over the entire world in 2166. Since he’s immortal, the group must travel through time and attack him when he’s at his most vulnerable stage.

Savage will be played by Casper Crump. The crossover episode of “The Flash” and “Arrow” marks the character’s first appearance

The two-part crossover episode will also mark the introduction of Ciara Renee’s Kendra Saunders a.k.a. Hawkgirl and Carter Hall a.k.a. Hawkman, played by Falk Hentschel.

Caity Lotz’ Sara Lance will be part of the team. Lotz will be playing the White Canary as it suggests that she’s become a different person after her resurrection.

Brandon Routh’s Ray Palmer will also be part of the all-star team and will be using his invention to be The Atom.

Fans will also see Victor Garber and Franz Drameh’s Firestorm and Captain Cold, played by Wentworth Miller. Dominic Purcell will also appear as Heat Wave.

“Legends of Tomorrow” is created by the minds behind “Arrow” and “The Flash” including Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Marc Guggenheim.
