The original Left 4 Dead game was released back in 2008 and another version came to game stores the very next year, but since then there has been little information to go on. According to those that played the second installment of the popular game, it came to a good closing point, but some leaked images are giving life to the rumors behind the third game. The first bit of leaked information came by way of some Powerpoint presentations that included images from Left 4 Dead 2 rendered in a Source 2.0 Engine.
Other rumors that support the release of the Left 4 Dead 3 video game included a Valve employee seeing concept art for the game. Valve has been very quiet about the game possibilities at this point, but that is not good enough for gamers that want something new to buy from them. According to one source, the reason the game might be taking longer to announce is the fact that the studio working on it is also getting ready to release a new game, called Evolve.
Until Valve speaks up about the rumored third game, anything you read about or hear is going to be considered a rumor. Rumors sites have added to the mix, releasing information like the names of new, infected characters like The Bloody Clown, The Breeder and The Assassin. This information leaves gamers wondering if the new characters compare to The Witch, The Tank and The Charger. Minh Le, co-creator of the Counter Strike series and Valve employee revealed information about the game in a GameSpot interview.
In the interview Le said, “There’s like a laser sight on my head right now. I don’t know if I can talk about that, to be honest. I think it’s kind of public knowledge that people know that it is being worked on.” Even Le thinks that it is public knowledge that the game is being worked on. That only keeps gamers settled for a little while before they start to band down the door hoping to get a concrete release date from the company. Until now, the rumors will have to be enough.
