Fans of the multiplayer zombie shooter game “Left 4 Dead 3” got a major reason to be excited when a former employee of developer Valve Corporation publicly came out last month to make key revelations about the highly-anticipated video game.
The ex-Valve employee revealed that “Left 4 Dead 3” will be a prequel-sequel of “Left 4 Dead 2” and it shall actually take place one month after the infection has begun to spread. Accordingly, the game shall also have four new survivors and six campaigns.
The four new survivors include Irvin, a black gangster guy, Katherine, a stereotypical 24-year-old Caucasian woman, Keenan, a black guy who is a comic book nerd, and Garrett Jr., a buffed-up guy who is a famous Kenpo fighter in the “Left 4 Dead” franchise.
“Left 4 Dead 3” shall also have six campaigns, namely: Crash-land, Impasse, Inquisitor Land, Early Destination, Cliff-Hanger and No Mercy.
The ex-employee of Valve also disclosed that the game is also going to get a backpack system that allows each character carry a specific item only.
Keeping gamers busy
While fans are still keenly and eagerly awaiting the release of “Left 4 Dead 3,” which according to the former employee of Valve would happen either late in 2016 or early in 2017, they should be happy to know that the eight surviving characters on “Left 4 Dead” and “Left 4 Dead 2” are actually part of the 16 featured characters in the PC game “Zombie Army Trilogy.”
The playable characters from the “Left 4 Dead” franchise are taking the unholy hordes of 1945 in the PC edition of “Zombie Army Trilogy.”
It’s a non-Valve video game, but it features all eight survivors from Valve’s zombie shooter video game franchise. A free update to the game was released on “Zombie Army Trilogy” on August 21 and it gave gamers more things to chew on about the game, notes Realty Today.
Gamers can actually combine player characters from their roster so they can actually reunite the “Left 4 Dead” characters from some time-bending four-player co-op gameplay, or mix them with others, and thwart the undead army of the Third Reich, details the Rebellion of UK.
“Left 4 Dead” players are simply advised not to mind how their present-day characters end up taking on Nazi zombies of 1945.
Focus on multiplayer games
Game developer Valve Corporation has been making an excellent living and profits by releasing multiplayer games and also banking on its internet-based gaming platform called Steam.
With the massive success of “Dota 2” and “Counterstrike” and other games on its Steam platform, it is almost sure that “Left 4 Dead 3” will definitely be released.
Previous reports indicate that Valve Corporation has been having second thoughts about the development of its multiplayer zombie shooter game “Left 4 Dead 3” as well as its first-person shooter video game “Half Life 3.”
The reason is obvious. Valve Corporation and its owner Gabe Newell has made and continues to make a lot of money for its multiplayer video games as well as games on Steam platform so rather than risk on a game which is not sure to bring in the money, they would rather stick to what they have at the moment.

However, it can be noted that “Left 4 Dead 3” just like “Dota 2” and “Counterstrike” and other games in the Steam platform are all multiplayer games. It is where the money in gaming these days, next to mobile gaming that is.
So the potential for the development of “Left 4 Dead 3” is actually higher than “Half Life 3” because the latter is only a single player game.
Gabe Newell now has an estimated net worth of $1 billion and he is arguably the richest man in the video game industry.
