But in the end, we don’t really know what’s going on behind Valve’s doors right now, and what the company is planning to do. They may be just focusing on Steam as they’ve been rumored to be doing lately, and it’s certainly something that can work out in their favor, all things considered.
Steam has been a very powerful platform not just for Valve, but for the PC market as a whole, and it’s resulted in many benefits for the company and gamers in general, so it’s definitely a service that needs further development.
But at the same time, Valve got to where they are thanks to their games and not so much because of Steam, so some of their fans have been hoping that the company isn’t going to so quickly forget where they came from.
Let’s hope that they have something more interesting lined up for the next months, instead of only hearing about updates for Steam. If Valve announced a new game right now, that would be of huge benefit to them and it could easily place them back in one of the leading positions on the market as a developer and not just as a publisher which is what they’ve been doing lately.
