Late in March, rumors came out that Apple will be launching sometime in September this year not just one but three iPhones, reportedly the iPhone 6C, the iPhone 6S, and the iPhone 6S Plus.
The iPhone 6S and the iPhone 6S Plus will obviously be improved versions of the larger iPhones that were launched by the American tech giant in September last year. But the iPhone 6C will reportedly be a deviation since it will revert back to a 4-inch display screen like the previous iPhones.
Future Supplier apparently got hold of an iPhone 6C with rear housing and the website subsequently compared it to the iPhone 5C just to show the differences in size and also the input and output holes of the device, particularly on the back and on the lower side.
The differences
The site first compared the rear part of the iPhone 5C with that of the iPhone 6C. It noted that the iPhone C has a round-shaped flash hole on the upper back side of the phone, the iPhone 6C features an oval shape for the same flash hole located on the same position.
The second difference can be seen on the lower side portion of the smartphone. The iPhone 5C only has one row of four holes for its speaker output on the bottom side whereas the supposed iPhone 6C has two sets of four holes, or a total of eight holes, on the same side of the handset.
There is also another obvious difference in terms of the input hole for the microphone. The iPhone 5C has only one hole while the iPhone 6C has six in all.
While these are just leaked images and Apple has yet to make an announcement to either confirm or deny its authenticity, the photos cannot hide the fact that there is a real iPhone on the photos.
Although the facade of the new smartphone has not been shown in the leaked images for obvious reasons, it is clear that it’s an all-new device and not a previous iPhone model.
Camera bump and thicker body
Another glaring difference between the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6C, according to other tech news sites, is the fact that the latter smartphone does not have a camera bump compared to the former. The opening for the lens appears to be flushed or integrated with the rest of the casing.
It can be noted by comparing the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6C that the latter has a thicker body. It was obvious from the two rows of speaker phones when it was compared with the iPhone 5C.
But the same site also warned of the possibility that the image may also be fake since the comparison is too superficial and does not say much about the real features of one of the upcoming Apple iPhones.
Also reinforcing the possibility that the leaked images may be a hoax is the fact that the thicker design, the elongated flash, and smaller display screen are backward moves for Apple. Although the two-row speaker holes and the doing away with the camera bump could actually indicate that it’s also a step forward for the company.
