Latest Rumors about GTA 6 Talk about Location Again, New Speculation for Portland!

“GTA 6” is already quite rich on rumors, despite the game most probably being a long time off, and the fact that Rockstar haven’t even said anything about the sequel themselves. The company is still hard at work developing new content for “GTA 5” and fixing issues with the game, but according to rumors, a small part of their development team is actually already brainstorming ideas for “GTA 6”. They don’t seem to be very far into it, if the rumors are to be trusted, as the developers are yet to decide on the game’s location.

So far, we’ve heard various rumors about where the next “GTA” game could be set – some were pointing towards Liberty City, others at Chicago, and there were also rumors about completely new locations, both real as well as fictional ones. Now, Portland has been added to the list of rumored locations, as a blog predicted that this will be the main setting for the next game in the series.

For what it’s worth, the prediction doesn’t seem to be based on any rumors or alleged leaks, but rather on the overall setting and scenery of the region, which, according to Movoto, would make a perfect setting for a game with the kind of action seen in “GTA”, and would be perfect for all sorts of automobile stunts. It’s strange to say that Portland is the definite winner in this regard, as far as locations in the US go, but it’s definitely not a bad choice if Rockstar wanted to make a “GTA” game that focuses more heavily on its car action aspect.

The series has traveled all over the US so far, although it hasn’t gone out of the country too much. Of course, some of the first games in the franchise were an exception to that, but many fans have been hopeful that Rockstar are going to explore new locations for the next sequel, perhaps something with a more exotic look.

Others have been asking Rockstar to focus a bit more heavily on the multiplayer aspect of the next game, as there is a more or less unanimous agreement that the studio could have handled the online portion of “GTA 5” better. The game plays relatively well and is stable, but Rockstar promised a variety of features that took a long time to implement, longer than they had initially stated, and this lead to some negative reactions. The gameplay was also reported to be somewhat unbalanced, especially in financial terms, and the difficulty curve for earning money should be adjusted quite a bit for the next game, according to most critics and fans alike. So, whatever Rockstar are planning for “GTA 6”, if the game is to include multiplayer, they should seriously think its design through.
