Lady Gaga Transforms from Outlandish Dresser to Refined and Classy Looker

Lady Gaga has metamorphosed from an outlandish dresser five years ago to a refined and elegant woman who now knows how to dress the part.

This was very evident when the “Born This Way” singer showed up during the 57th Annual Grammy Awards on February 8 looking refined, clean, and timeless.

Thanks to her stylist-turned-designer Brandon Maxwell who has been dressing the singer for the last five years, Lady Gaga showed up in the Grammys with the old-school glamour in silver, shimmering gown, reports Yahoo! News.

The last time Lady Gaga attended the Grammys back in 2010, she came wearing that infamous meat dress of hers that had everybody shocked and wondering where did she came from.

Dressing the part

According to Maxwell, the dramatic change in the way Lady Gaga has been dressing is because of the latest album of the singer with legendary singer Tony Benett.

The look goes with the album, titled “Cheek to Cheek” reveals Maxwell. It’s a jazz album so Brandon opted to give Lady Gaga more refined, clean and timeless looks since working on the album last year.

Lady Gaga and Tony Benett won the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album during the Grammys and the pair also performed and sang the title track during the ceremonies. For her duet with Tony Benett, Lady Gaga changed outfit to a black, sparkling, strapless gown with a feather trimmed train, which is also designed and created by Brandon Maxwell.

Brandon said that he and the 28-year-old Lady Gaga have been working together for quite a long time already. He said that the singer usually takes on the looks depending on the kind of album she is promoting. Brandon added that since Lady Gaga has done a lot of albums already, she has also taken on different types of looks.

The designer said that Lady Gaga is a person who can wear anything and do anything.

Collaboration continues

With the success of their collaboration, Lady Gaga and Tony Benett will continue with their collaborative endeavors.

Brandon said that he has in fact designed a wardrobe for Lady Gaga’s Cheek to Cheek Tour with the legendary jazz singer which rolls off in April.

The designer said that unlike her previous shows during the early years, Lady Gaga would not be doing a lot of acrobatic dance movements in the concert tour with Tony so he will be able to design her with a lot of refined outfits.

Brandon said the tour will focus more on glamour and glitz so Lady Gaga expects to wear more gowns. It will no longer be the hard-core dancing and pop music type like she used to do in her previous concerts, the designer added.

The designer said that Lady Gaga has transformed now to a jazz singer so it is just her voice that stands out, giving him a lot more room in clothing design with a little bit more concept in it too.
