Lady Gaga is engaged! The “Poker Face” singer said ‘I do’ when boyfriend Taylor Kinney popped the question to her on Valentine’s Day.
She personally made the announcement via her Tweeter account by saying that Taylor Kinney gave her his heart on Valentine’s Day and she said yes. She also posted a photo of a heart-shaped engagement ring on her Instagram account.
Barry Lewis, Executive Editor of the Times Herald-Record actually saw the event happening by accident. He just happened to be at Joanne Trattoria restaurant, an establishment owned by Lady Gaga’s family on the Upper West Side, and he saw the proceedings and the ensuing celebration.
Lewis detailed that he heard Lady Gaga saying it was already time while flashing her heart-shaped engagement ring to practically everybody in the restaurant.
Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga have been dating for almost four years and Taylor felt that it was time to raise the relationship a notch higher since the two of them are not getting any younger.
Lewis eventually detailed the proposal and the going-ons at Joanne Trattoria that Valentine’s Day on his column at the Times Herald-Record, reports Yahoo! Celebrity.
No longer a secret
When they started dating almost four years ago, Taylor Kinney and Lady Gaga were never very vocal about their relationship, preferring to keep it to themselves to protect both their privacies and also their blossoming relationship.
Over the past couple of months however, the pair has become more open with their relationship to the public.
They actually attended the 37th Annual Kennedy Center honors together in December last year where the two of them also had their photos taken on the event’s red carpet. Lady Gaga was photographed then with her head leaning on Taylor Kinney’s head in a very sweet and romantic manner.
Before the December event, they also attended the Harper’s Bazaar Celebrates Icons event in New York City as they made a sexy red carpet splash when Taylor Kinney gave Lady Gaga a kiss in front of the awed media.
Just last month, the two were again seen at the lobby of Beverly Hilton during the Golden Globes night holding hands and kissing too while walking together, indicating the love-fest that they have in their relationship.
How it all started
Lady Gaga and Taylor Kinney, who is an actor and a model, met during the filming of the singer’s “You and I” music video in 2011. They have been dating since.
Although one of her past hits was titled “Bad Romance,” it never happened to Lady Gaga in her four-year relationship with Taylor Kinney.
Lady Gaga, who is Stefani Joanne Angelina Gemanotta in real life, still can’t get over her happiness and excitement for the marriage proposal she got from Taylor Kinney that she announced to the whole social media her engagement.
