The fighting styles of Mortal Kombat veteran characters Kitana and Kung Lao are revealed in the first official gameplay trailer of “Mortal Kombat X” released on January 14, 2015 by Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment.

Developed by NetherRealm, “Mortal Kombat X” is the 10th installment to the very successful bloody fighting video game franchise.

Who’s Next?

The trailer which has the title “Who’s Next?” which usually is quipped after a player defeats an opponent in the video game, featured the return of the deadly fan-wielding Edenian princess known as Kitana.

Consistent with her fighting style in the early editions of the Mortal Kombat video games, Kitana uses her fan blades to slice and dice her opponent, details Eurogamer.

Kung Lao, on the other hand, is the mixed-martial artist who uses his razor sharp hat to cut up his enemies, reminiscent of the James Bond Japanese villain named Oddjob. He also has that Ip Man-like punch combination that drives an opponent to the ground.

While the trailer did not go so much into the other facets of the fighting styles of Kitana and Kung Lao, it still give gamers a quick and dirty look at what they can do.

The gameplay trailer also featured some of the gruesome and brutal fights with memorable Kombatants including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Kano and several others.

Bloodier game and more

The improved graphics of “Mortal Kombat X” has made the bloody game even bloodier and gruesome. The gameplay trailer also showed that the game is gory but beautifully brutal, especially among gamers and avid fans of the franchise.

Gamers who have pre-ordered “Mortal Kombat X” also have the brute Goro as bonus playable character.

It is likely that NetherRealm will be selling Goro as a purchasable character, along with several others, after “Mortal Kombat X” is officially rolled out on April 14, 2015.
